Anyone who has collaborated with Intigris over the past few years is likely familiar with Carlijn de Haan. She joined the team 3.5 years ago as a Salesforce consultant and quickly became an vital part of the company. Carlijn’s deep understanding and passion for Salesforce were evident early on, leading her from a consulting role to Managing Consultant, and most recently, to Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Intigris. Below, Carlijn reflects on her remarkable journey with the company through a series of insightful questions.
Your Time at Intigris
How have you grown as a professional since joining Intigris? Which experiences or challenges have contributed the most to that growth?
Since joining Intigris, I’ve had the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects across different industries. This has significantly deepened my knowledge of Salesforce, but also broadened my understanding of different business processes. Every project and client has brought its own unique challenges, helping me grow not only as a consultant, but also as a strategic thinker.
Looking back, is there a particular project or moment you’re especially proud of?
There have been many moments I’m proud of, but what gives me the most energy is seeing a successful go-live where the client truly experiences the value we promised. Internally, I also really enjoy mentoring new colleagues—watching them grow into confident professionals who deliver great results to our clients is incredibly rewarding.
When you first joined Intigris, you said your favorite part of the work was thinking along with the client—translating a solution back to the core problem. Has that changed?
In a way, yes. I’m no longer as deeply involved in the technical details, and I now approach things from more of a helicopter view. But I still enjoy contributing to complex challenges and co-creating smart solutions with our team.
Your new role as COO
The move from Managing Consultant to COO is quite a big step. How are your responsibilities changing in your new role?
It’s actually been quite a natural transition, and many of our clients have probably noticed this shift over time. I’ll be less involved in the day-to-day project details and more focused on the bigger picture. That said, clients can always reach out to me directly—my door is always open if they’re stuck or need a fresh perspective.
What are your key priorities for Intigris in the year ahead as COO?
My main focus is to ensure we remain the reliable partner our clients trust—delivering high-quality solutions with a strong technical team. Long-term partnerships are extremely important to us, and we see many opportunities to grow and expand our expertise. We’re also actively hiring new talent to strengthen our team.
What are you most looking forward to in the coming period?
We’re in the middle of growing our team and have recently welcomed some great new clients into our portfolio. I’m really excited about working with them and achieving great results together.
You’ve always been closely involved in hiring new consultants at Intigris. What’s one essential quality for a Salesforce consultant, and what advice would you give to someone just starting out?
Technical skills are just one part of the job. A great Salesforce consultant needs to understand processes quickly and think along with the client. It’s not just about implementing what exists—it’s about challenging the status quo and using our experience to help clients improve and simplify. Often, the best solutions are the ones that stay close to the Salesforce standard.
